COLOMBO – DAMBULLA – MATALE – KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA – KITHULGALA – NEGOMBO – COLOMBO

Tour Overview
Day 1 : MUMBAI – COLOMBO

Depart from Mumbai airport at XXXX hours for Colombo. Arrive at Colombo airport by flight no. XXXX at XXXX hours . Upon arrival, clear immigration, collect your luggage and follow the sign for exit. Watch out for our representative who will be holding a placard with RAJDHANI TOURS AND TRAVELS. You will be welcomed and greeted at the airport and transferred to the hotel. Check-In Hotel. Later day free at leisure. Overnight stay at Colombo.

Day 2 : COLOMBO – DAMBULLA – MATALE – KANDY

After breakfast, proceed to caved temples at Dambulla, dating back to the 1st century BC, this 500-foot rock mass consists of a series of caves turned into shrines with numerous life size images of the Buddha and other Gods. The most impressive is the 147 long statue of the Buddha. On completion leave for Kandy via Matale. Refreshment stop at a Spice and Herbal Garden in Matale. Overnight stay at Kandy.

Day 3 : KANDY SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, a city tour of Kandy including visits temple of the Tooth relic. Kandy, 116 kms from Colombo, in the foothills of the hill country, Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhalese Kings. The sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha is preserved for veneration at the Dalada Maligawa. Kandy is the venue of the annual Esala Perehera, one of the most colourful pageants in all Asia, held in honour of the Buddha’s relic. Visit upper lake drive and then leave for Peradeniya and visit the Royal Botanic Gardens at Peradeniya have a wide and rare collection of tropical and temperate, exotic and indigenous flora, and an orchid house with the largest collection in Asia.  Visit Gem Museum and lapidary then to visit cultural dance show in the city. Overnight stay at Kandy.

Day 4 : KANDY – RAMBODA – NUWARA ELIYA

After breakfast, leave Nuwara Eliya via Ramboda. Visit great Hanuman Ji temple at Ramboda, a photo stop at Ramboda waterfall, a visit to a tea factory and plantation in Ramboda. Arrive to Nuwara Eliya city, visit Gregory lake and Nuwara Eliya city center. Also known as the “City of Lights” and “Little England”, Nuwara Eliya was the favourite hill station of the British who tried to create Nuwara Eliya into a typical English Village. The old brick Post office, country house like hill club, with its hunting pictures, mounted hunting trophies and fish, and it’s strict formal dinner attire; the 18 hole golf course, race course etc., all remind you of ‘England’. Blessed with a salubrious climate, breathtaking views of valleys, meadows, mountains and greenery; it’s hard to imagine that Nuwara Eliya is only 180 Km from the hot and humid Colombo. Overnight at Nuwara Eliya.

Day 5 : NUWARA ELIYA – KITHULGALA – COLOMBO

After breakfast, visit the Temple of Sita Devi in Sita Eliya, then leave for Colombo. En route a photo stop at St Clears and Devon waterfalls. A refreshment stop at Kithulgala, then continue journey to Colombo. Overnight at Colombo.

Day 6 : COLOMBO SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, proceed a city tour of Colombo, including visits to the National museum, the old parliament (outside view) a Hindu temple and Gangarama Buddhist temple and an opportunity to shop in several shopping malls in the city. Colombo, the trade capital, has long been the traditional gateway to the orient. Today, Colombo is a fascinating city with a happy blend of east & west, Past & Present with a charm of its own. The main seaport of Sri Lanka is in Colombo & adjoining it is Pettah, which is the local bazaar & trading area. Overnight at Colombo.

Day 7 : COLOMBO – MUMBAI

After breakfast, check out as per hotel policy, as per flight schedule transfer to airport to board your flight no XXXX at XXXX hrs for Mumbai. Arrive Mumbai International airport at XXXX hours with sweet memories of the tour.
